Messy - Lola Young

Piano notes for 'Messy' by Lola Young

Verse 1

You know I'm impatient
F#   C#    B    A B F#

So why would you leave me waiting outside the station
F#   A     F#    E     C#  C#  C# B  C# G# G# G# F#

When it was like minus four degrees?
C#   C# C#  C#C# C# C# C# C#

And I, I get what you're sayin'
B   B  B  C#   B    A     G# E

I just really don't wanna hear it right now
F# E C# C#C#   C# C# C# G# G# G#

Can you shut up for like once in your life?
F#    E   C#  C# C# C# C#  C#  B  D

Listen to me
C# C# B D

I took your nice words of advice about
A  A    F#   C#    B     B    B B    B B

How you think I'm gonna die lucky if I turned thirty-three
B      B     B     B    B B    B   B B   B A    B     A B    D

Okay, so yeah, I smoke like a chimney
C#C# B  C#   B  C#     C# B  C# A

I'm not skinny and I pull a Britney
B    C# C# A   A  F# C# B  C# B

Every  other week
C#BC# B A   C#

But cut me some slack, who do you want me to be?
A     C#  B     A         B      C#  C# C#   C#     B   A  A

Chorus

'Cause I'm too messy
F#     C#  F#  C# F#

And then I'm just too damn clean
F#    F#  C#  F#  C#   F#    B
You told me, "Get a job"
B       B  A       B  C# D

Then you ask where the hell I've been
C#     B    A      D    C#   B   A      A

And I'm too perfect  till  I   open my big mouth
F#   C#  F#  C#F# F# F# C#F#C# F#  B

I want to be me, is that not allowed?
B    B   B  C# D  D  C#    B    A A

And I'm too clever, and then I'm just stupid dumb
C#  C#  F#  F# E   F#   G     A   G# F# E    B

You hate it when I cry unless it's that time of the month
B      B    B    B  C# D  C# B  A    D   C#   B   A    A
And I'm too perfect  till  I show you that I'm not
F#  C#  F#  C# F# F# F# C# F#  C#  F#   B
A thousand people I could be for you
B   B A          B A  B   C#  D  C#  B
And you hate the whole damn lot
A     A     D    C#   B       A      A
Post-Chorus

You hate the whole damn lot
A      D   C#     B     A    G#

You hate the whole damn lot

You hate, hate
A      B     B

You still don't get the hint, I'm not asking for pages

But one text or two would be nice

About Me

These notes can be used to play the song on many instruments including the keyboard, flute, recorder and piano. The piano/keyboard I use is a Casio CT-S300 , and an older Casio CTK 240 electronic keyboard which are great for beginners. I also have a YouTube channel (Mint Music) where I make videos to assist you in your learning. Please feel free to comment any requests and feedback. You can find me on YouTube at:  https://www.youtube.com/c/mintmusic

  1. This is what my wife told me yesterday: I feel my skin looks messy and faded. She is 54, and of course, at this age, the skin is not getting any better. I love her so much, and I feel for her with every cell of my heart and body. So I thought I would check Zelens page that my colleagues were chatting about the other day. I guess these serums will be great for my wife; I am going to buy it for her.

  3. I really enjoyed your review of 'Messy' by Lola Young—your insight into the chaotic storytelling really resonated. For anyone who enjoys immersive experiences beyond books, I recently explored a game with a similarly dynamic environment called CarX Street MOD APK
    and found it surprisingly engaging.

  5. Great breakdown of how Mint Music is shaping discovery for independent artists. I especially liked the focus on curated listening and data-driven insights—it’s something many platforms overlook. For anyone analyzing music trends or engagement patterns alongside this, I recently found Check This Tool useful for deeper performance insights without disrupting the creative workflow.

  6. I really enjoyed the breakdown of the different tools and techniques here. It’s interesting to see how much the landscape for independent creators has shifted—even a few years ago, getting high-quality vocal effects or specialized processing usually required a massive budget or a physical studio.

I’ve found that using free voice changer software can be a surprisingly effective way to experiment with vocal textures or character work without over-complicating the signal chain. It’s a great reminder that you don't always need the most expensive gear to find a sound that really stands out. Thanks for sharing these insights!

  7. "This is a really interesting deep dive into how Mint Music is changing the way we look at digital distribution. I’ve always felt that the intersection of accessibility and high-quality performance is where the most growth happens in this space. It reminds me of how tools like Fluxus Executor Windows have become such a staple for users looking to customize and push the boundaries of their digital environments. It’ll be fascinating to see if this platform starts integrating more user-driven modifications as it grows."
